Radja Nainggolan has officially signed a contract extension, committing himself to Roma until June 2021. “I’ve demonstrated it’s what I always wanted.”
The 29-year-old Belgium international had been the subject of offers from Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter.
“Roma are delighted to confirm that midfielder Radja Nainggolan has signed a new four-year contract with the club,” read a statement.
“I think I have demonstrated that this is what I always wanted,” Nainggolan told the official club website.
“So I’m very happy, especially that the club and I can continue our adventure and move forward together.”
Nainggolan joined Roma in January 2014 and his previous contract had been due to expire in June 2020.
“We’re delighted Radja has committed his long-term future – and the most important years of his career – to the club,” added Roma President James Pallotta.
“Last season, he was arguably one of the best midfielders in the world and it’s no surprise that he was linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
“But there was never any question of him going elsewhere – he loves Roma and we love having him here.”
