Eusebio Di Francesco wants Roma to “improve our tactical co-ordination” in tomorrow’s friendly against Sevilla.
The Giallorossi are in Spain to take part in tomorrow’s Trofeo Antonio Puerta, but it is also a return to the city for ex-Sevilla director Monchi.
“We are improving a great deal in pre-season and tomorrow is an important test of our fitness levels,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“We’re going to treat this game as if it was a Serie A fixture. We’ve worked hard and I am satisfied with what the lads have done.
“We do need to improve our tactical co-ordination. It has already improved, but I’m not happy yet. Some situations need to be repeated again and again in training.
“These friendly matches are useful to see what’s working and what isn’t. There’s a long road ahead, we’re getting sharper in attack and with improved fitness levels can express our quality better going forward. It’s important we see Roma as a collective and one block rather than defence, midfield and attack.
“Sevilla have a different playing style now compared to under Jorge Sampaoli. They brought in Luis Muriel from Sampdoria, who I know well, and he added pace and technique up front. They are a competitive side.
“Monchi told me about Puerta and it is an honour for us to participate in his memory. It’s satisfying working with Monchi, because I can learn a lot from him and we get along well.”
