Roma director Monchi insists there is still no deal for Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick. “We made an offer and are waiting for a response.”
There were multiple reports today that the Giallorossi had won the bidding war with a proposal worth €38m, including bonuses.
Juventus, Inter and Napoli had also been chasing the Czech Republic international.
“With regards to Schick, nothing has changed since yesterday,” Monchi told Mediaset Premium.
“Many clubs are interested in the player. We made an important offer, both sporting and economic, and we are waiting for a response.”
He was asked if Roma required reinforcements in defence after selling Antonio Rudiger to Chelsea, as Juan Jesus had to play as a makeshift right-back in the 3-1 defeat to Inter.
“It’s true that Rudiger left, but we also brought in Hector Moreno and Rick Karsdorp.”
