Patrik Schick’s condition following a thigh injury is ‘improving,’ according to a statement on the Roma website.
The Giallorossi’s club record signing suffered the setback during training last week, with Coach Eusebio Di Francesco confirming he would miss this weekend’s scheduled match against Schick’s former club Sampdoria.
Last night’s game ended up being postponed, but it remains unclear as to whether the Czech forward will be fit in time for Roma’s Champions League opener with Atletico Madrid in midweek.
“Patrik Schick underwent further tests on Sunday which revealed that the condition of his left quadriceps has improved,” the statement reads.
“The player will continue working on the agreed rehabilitation plan and his condition will be evaluated over the coming days.”
