Chelsea are hoping to take advantage of Radja Nainggolan’s New Year’s Eve row with Roma to try again for the midfielder in January.
The Belgium international has always been a favourite for Antonio Conte, who had tried to sign him for Juventus and again at Stamford Bridge.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea are ready to make another attempt at his signature in the January transfer window.
That’s because Nainggolan was dropped from the team in tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Atalanta due to his “conduct.”
On New Year’s Eve, the player posted a video on Instagram depicting him smoking, drinking and using a series of blasphemous phrases – the worst kind of swearing in the Italian language.
He declared in the clip that he was “blind drunk” and the club did not take kindly to this sort of behaviour, above all as he uploaded the video himself.
However, although Nainggolan has been punished with this suspension, it is likely to be for only one game and Roma have no intention of selling.
Nor has he changed his mind on snubbing the Premier League, especially as Roma finished above Chelsea in their Champions League group, drawing 3-3 in London and winning 3-0 at the Olimpico.
