Butko: ‘First leg not decisive’

Shakhtar Donetsk defendef Bohdan Butko is confident they can hurt Roma’s defence, but the first leg “will not be decisive.”

The first leg in the Champions League Round of 16 kicks off in Kharkiv on Wednesday at 19.45 GMT.

“Roma finished top of their group, so that means they must be a good team,” said the right-back in his Press conference.

“They have quality players who are very attacking, but can also concede quite a lot at the back. We are prepared and studied their tactics, so hopefully we’ll prevent Roma from scoring a goal.

“We certainly hope to progress after the two legs and know tomorrow’s game will not be decisive. If we win the Champions League? I promise to shave my head!”

It’s not clear yet whether Stephan El Shaarawy or Diego Perotti will start on the Giallorossi’s left flank.

“I’d prefer not to name individual players to look out for, as we studied Roma as a complete team. It doesn’t matter who I face on the wing, we just want to play our game the get the result.”
