Hamsik: ‘Don’t give up!’

Marek Hamsik assures “Napoli aren’t giving up anything” in the Scudetto race as “Juventus have two tough away games in the run-in”.

The Bianconeri have gone four points clear at the top of the table after last night’s win over Atalanta, but they still have to face Maurizio Sarri’s side in Turin and they take on Inter and Roma in Week 35 and 37 respectively.

“Napoli aren’t giving up anything,” Hamsik declared on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“We have to believe to the end, there’s still the head-to-head game [on April 22] and Juventus have two tough away games in the run-in.

“Anything can definitely happen. The League still gives us opportunities, there are so many points and so many games.”

The Partenopei can still reach 100 points this season if they win their remaining 10 games, but Juve can get to 101 even if they lose to Napoli in Turin…

“It’s easy to say, but it’ll be difficult to do. If we reach 100 points it will be a Scudetto, maybe that’s how it will be.

“So far we’ve had an exceptional season, we need to continue like this.”

Juventus took the lead when Paulo Dybala’s late goal beat Lazio, and Napoli took to the pitch against Roma just after that game finished.

Sarri’s men proceeded to lose to Inter, with many suggesting that late winner had affected them psychologically.

“It has nothing to do with it,” Hamsik insisted.

“We started very well against Roma, we had 26 shots but unfortunately there are matches like that.

“Roma punished every mistake we made, then we went to San Siro [and drew 0-0] but we played a very good game.

“We forced Inter to sit back and defend, but sadly we didn’t manage to score. It’ll be hard for Juventus to win there too.

“We need to keep going and believe, because we’re trying to do something huge. There are 10 matches to go, with a head-to-head game and difficult matches for them.

“Now we’re thinking about Genoa. They’re a difficult opponent and have grown in the last few months.

“It won’t be easy, but we’re playing at home and we’re playing for the Scudetto, so we’ll have to win with our strength.”
