The Mayor of Liverpool has been invited to a meeting with his Roman equivalent, following the attack on Sean Cox ahead of Liverpool-Roma.
The Irish supporter remains in a critical condition after an alleged assault by two Italian fans on Tuesday night, who have been remanded in custody ahead of a trial next month.
Today representatives from both clubs, as well as UEFA and the police, met to discuss safety measures ahead of Wednesday’s second leg.
In addition, Vocegiallorossa reports, Rome’s mayor Virginia Raggi called Joe Anderson to ask about Cox, and offer the support of the city.
Mayor Raggi also invited Anderson to a meeting in Campidoglio, as a sign of friendship between the two cities.
Both support the other side in their city, as Raggi is a Lazio fan, while Anderson supports Everton.
