Patrik Schick believes Roma “have the chance to score three goals” on Wednesday as Liverpool “are not as strong at the back as in attack”.
The Giallorossi lost 5-2 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, and face the return leg at the Stadio Olimpico this week.
While they have a mountain to climb, they did overturn a 4-1 deficit to Barcelona in the previous round with a 3-0 win.
“As against Barcelona, there will be a wonderful atmosphere,” Schick predicted, speaking to Roma’s Official Match Program.
“If possible it will be even more so against Liverpool. At the end [of the first leg] we saw that they’re not as strong at the back as in attack, we have the chance to score three goals at home.
“In my opinion we have to go on the pitch without fear, with great determination and great courage.”
Tensions are high between the two sets of supporters, after Liverpool fan Sean Cox was assaulted and left in a coma before the first leg.
“My thoughts and those of the whole dressing room are for Sean’s family. This kind of thing doesn’t have to happen, it’s only football and there must be respect between everyone.”
