Burdisso set for retirement

Nicolas Andre Burdisso is expected to play his final game before retirement on Sunday, as the Torino defender takes on Genoa.

It’s a fitting fixture to bow out on, as the centre-back spent three years at Genoa and moved to Toro as a free agent last summer.

According to rumours, the 37-year-old is going to hang up his boots following this weekend’s match.

He spent most of his career in Italy, leaving Boca Juniors for Inter in 2004, then a spell at Roma from 2009 to January 2014.

Burdisso has won four Scudetto titles, two league trophies in Argentina, two editions of the Coppa Italia, three Italian Super Cups, three versions of the Copa Libertadores, two Club World Cups and the Olympics gold medal.
