Roma-bound Javier Pastore thanks Paris Saint-Germain but “all roads lead to Rome, so I’m going back to Italy”.
The midfielder arrived in Italy this evening, and will take his medical with the Giallorossi tomorrow morning.
“I didn’t think it was going to happen, but it’s time to say goodbye,” Pastore wrote on his Facebook page.
“I’d like to thank all Parisians, who welcomed me so wonderfully and made me feel at home for all these years.
“I’d especially like to thank all those supporters who always sent unequaled love my way, I’ll keep them in my heart forever.
“I was the first to join this project and I experienced so many emotions, lifted a lot of trophies, got to know wonderful people and felt the thrill of the Parc des Princes.
“Seven years is a long time, and yet by your side it isn’t enough because I’d have liked to have given you even more.
“I offer infinite thanks to His Highness, Nasser [Al-Khelaifi], [Henrique] Antero and all the directors and staff members who always supported me.
“To all my teammates, I wish you the best! Keep winning everything, I’ll miss you.
“I’d also like to spare a thought for other people who have been important in my career like Ángel Cappa, Walter Sabatini and Leonardo.
“As we say here, ‘all roads lead to Rome’ and so I’m going back to Italy. I hope to see you all soon though, I love you.
“This is Paris!”
