Andreazzoli: ‘Empoli replay’

Empoli Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli admits the 2-0 defeat to Roma was “like watching a replay” of their other games with costly errors in front of goal.

The Tuscans dominated the second half, hitting the woodwork, missing a penalty through Francesco Caputo and failing to capitalise on several other promising opportunities.

On the other hand, the Giallorossi were clinical, scoring through Steven Nzonzi’s glancing header and the Edin Dzeko counter-attack.

“Unfortunately, it makes me smile now, because it’s like watching a replay of the other games. We’re tired of commenting on the same things,” Andreazzoli told DAZN.

“It’s not an issue of the system, but of the interpretation of it. We saw today that the lads played as a unit and took the right approach, we just didn’t finish out scoring opportunities.

“With Luca Antonelli and Manuel Pasqual out injured, we can’t move to three at the back, as we don’t have the wing-backs.”
