The Spallini had started the season strong with three wins from the opening four, but have since lost five with the only bright spot a shock 2-0 victory away to Roma.

They came back down to earth straight away thanks a 3-0 home loss at the hands of Frosinone.

“We are up against a very strong Lazio side, full of champions, and we’ve got to get back to being the SPAL that fought it out with everyone,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We can walk into the Stadio Olimpico and leave with a positive result. Lazio have all the characteristics of a big team, just like Roma, and we can approach them in a similar way.

“If Joaquin Correa plays between the lines, then there’s no need to man-mark him with someone like Mirko Valdifiori. That would be the wrong way to approach it. We have our ways for dealing with these situations.”

SPAL are without Mattia Valoti due to an ankle injury, joining Jasmin Kurtic and Johan Djourou on the treatment table.

Pasquale Schiattarella sits out a ban, but goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is available after suspension and could take on his older brother, Lazio midfielder Sergej.

SPAL squad for Lazio: Gomis, Milinkovic-Savic, Thiam; Bonifiazi, Cionek, Felipe, Simic, Vicari; Costa, Dickmann, Everton Luiz, Lazzari, Missiroli, Nikolic, Valdifiori, Vitale, Viviani; Antenucci, Floccari, Moncini, Paloschi, Petagna
