Totti starts work as Roma director

Francesco Totti has started his first day as a director for Roma, while Monchi assures “I can’t wait to work with him.”

The former captain hung up his boots in May after 25 years in their squad and, after a summer vacation, decided to take up the offer of joining their staff.

Today Er Pupone was spotted walking along the side of the training ground at their Trigoria camp alongside Monchi, CEO Mauro Baldissoni and new team manager Morgan De Sanctis.

“Francesco wanted to know how the team was doing, to see the new players and the training sessions,” explained Monchi in a Press conference.

“I saw him really settle into the new dynamic. In my view he is a magnificent signing for the club, even if not as a player. I can’t wait to work with him.

“It is rather strange to have Totti at my side when not dressed as a player, but it’s also wonderful to know I’ll be able to work by his side.

“Soon he will be with us definitively.”

Totti will not travel with the Roma squad for their tour of Spain, where they’ll face Sevilla and Celta Vigo.
