Bologna’s failure to take chances in the first half leaves Roma still hanging on by the skin of their teeth.
Roma were again forced into changes against Bologna as Robin Olsen returned in goal and Justin Kluivert joined Nicolo Zaniolo on the wings. Daniele De Rossi rested in favour of Steven Nzonzi, but Patrik Schick, Cengiz Under and Rick Karsdorp were all sidelined.
The Rossoblu were also playing 4-3-3 under Sinisa Mihajlovic, who began his reign with a 1-0 win at Inter, but made the trip without injured quartet Mattia Destro, Giancarlo Gonzalez, Riccardo Orsolini and Federico Mattiello, while Rodrigo Palacio was suspended.
Olsen had missed Roma’s last two matches, but he kept his side in the game with a string of important stops. Indeed the Swede was on hand to tip over Soriano’s early drive, before keeping out a low shot from the midfielder.
Roma failed to fashion any clear-cut chances, but Olsen wasn’t given a moment’s rest, going on to deny Simone Edera on his line and ultimately saving the best for last with a big block on Soriano.
