Former FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio has revealed that Antonio Conte ‘wants to get back to coaching in Italy’.
Conte is expected to find a new club for next season, having spent the past campaign battling Chelsea for compensation, and Tavecchio all-but-confirmed Serie A was the ex-Juventus Coach’s next port of call.
“Conte wants to get back to coaching in Italy,” he told Gr Parlamento.
“He’s a true leader, an added value for our football. I still have affection for Antonio.
“I regret that if I gave him the money he asked for in 2016, we probably would’ve gone to the World Cup.”
The 47-year-old, who was Italy CT between 2014 and 2016, has been heavily linked with Inter and Roma in recent months.
