Roma winger Stephan El Shaarawy will teach football to disabled children in order to avoid a criminal conviction.
El Shaarawy was travelling back from Turin in September 2016 when he crashed his Audi A3 into a Fiat Panda.
Although the Italy international escaped unhurt, a 70-year-old man was taken to hospital with whiplash injuries.
El Shaarawy immediately paid damages to the pensioner, and he has now been ordered to teach football to disabled children in Rome for the next five months, as a form of community service.
He will return to court in September, when the case should be closed once and for all.
