Ex-Roma President Ciarrapico dies

Roma are mourning the death of Giuseppe Ciarrapico, who was President of the club from 1991 to 1993.

The former politician, businessman and Senator died this morning at the age of 85.

He was forced to sell the club to Franco Sensi in 1993 after he was caught up in a political scandal, having taken it over only two years earlier following the death of Dino Viola.

Roma won the 1991 Coppa Italia during Ciarrapico’s era and also gave a teenage Francesco Totti his debut.
