Juventus have confirmed that Merih Demiral is out for the next six to seven months after a successful surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament.
The Old Lady reports on their official website that the Turkey international’s intervention at the Hochrum clinic in Innsbruck was perfectly successful.
The statement claims that Demiral “underwent reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament and suture of the lateral meniscus of the left knee”.
Demiral had scored the opening goal during the 2-1 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, but followed Roma star Nicolò Zaniolo off the pitch on a stretcher with a torn ACL.
The Turkish defender had recently pushed summer signing Matthijs de Ligt out of the starting line-up at the Allianz Stadium and was rumoured to be a transfer target for a host of clubs across Europe this winter.
