Ausilio wants ‘respect’ in Roma row

The row between Inter and Roma is increasingly bitter, as Piero Ausilio hit back at Gianluca Petrachi. “There ought to be respect and professionalism.”

Leonardo Spinazzola and Matteo Politano had their medicals and posed for pictures before Inter pulled the plug on the exchange, trying to change the terms of the loan with obligation to buy into an option.

Roma director of sport Petrachi told Sky Sport Italia on Sunday that “evidently there was a short-circuit or total breakdown in communication between the Inter director of sport and CEO.

“When a word has been given and an operation is closed, then it is closed.”

Now Ausilio has hit back at his Roma counterpart in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“I think the Roma director of sport knows all about short-circuits, seeing as he is often in those situations, especially when it comes to press conferences and interviews.

“In order to reassure him, I can say that we are all on the same page at Inter. When a negotiation begins, all the components agree: the technical and financial ones.

“If we go for a player, it means all the components of the club, from the President to the coach, absolutely agree. Whatever the Roma DS believes, that is his problem. I just say there ought to be respect and professionalism between colleagues.

“He should look at his own issues, I talk about Inter and not the problems at Roma, so I’d like members of other clubs to focus on themselves.”
