El Shaarawy return on the cards?

Stephan El Shaarawy would like to leave Shanghai Shenhua and return to Roma after only six months in China, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The report suggests that the Giallorossi are contemplating to bring the winger back from Asia as Paulo Fonseca needs a replacement for injured Nicolò Zaniolo.

Roma are reportedly closing in on Barcelona winger Carles Pérez, but the hypothesis of a sensational return for El Shaarawy has been reported by the broadcaster.

The 27-year-old moved to Shanghai Shenhua for €16m last summer and Sky now writes that the left-winger would like to come home after only 10 in the Chinese Super League.

The former Milan player has played 195 games in Serie A, 109 of them for the Giallorossi and contributed 55 goals and 27 assists during the time in his native Italy.

He has been capped 25 times for the Azzurri and scored four times for his national team, as he currently hopes to be a part of Roberto Mancini’s squad for Euro 2020 this summer. A move back to Serie A could possibly help him secure a place.
