Liverani: ‘Repeat Napoli at Roma’

Fabio Liverani assured Lecce will “repeat the performance we put in against Napoli” after that 3-2 victory to get the better of Roma.

It kicks off on Sunday at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“It’s a pity about the players who are injured, but it’s becoming a recurring theme that we’ve got limited options, particularly in attack,” said the coach in his press conference.

“We’ve only got Gianluca Lapadula upfront, but there are others who have more attacking characteristics, despite not being forwards.”

Khouma Babacar, Riccardo Saponara, Diego Farias and Filippo Falco all miss out.

“This will certainly be a tough match, but we go there with belief in ourselves and the right level of humility to play a courageous and vigorous style of football.

“We must repeat the performance we put in against Napoli, defending when we need to and attacking where possible.”

Lecce have a far better away record than on home turf, most recently picking up a 3-2 result at the Stadio San Paolo.

“It would be a grave error to think Roma are fatigued after their Europa League tie on Thursday, as their players are accustomed to a game every few days.”

Lecce squad for Roma: Vera, Petriccione, Lucioni, Paz, Donati, Mancosu, Lapadula, Shakhov, Rossettini, Deiola, Meccariello, Gabriel, Vigorito, Calderoni, Oltremarini, Rispoli, Maselli, Rimoli, Majer, Dell’Orco, Barak, Tachtsidis, Chironi
