Sevilla coach Julien Lopetegui says his side “will face a great club” when they come up against Roma in the Europa League Round of 16.
The two sides were pitted together in this morning’s draw, and Lopetegui expects a difficult tie against the Giallorossi.
“We will face a great club but with the hope and desire to pass the round,” Lopetegui told Spanish TV channel Movistar.
“We will try to face it with all the ambition in the world. We know Roma very well, they have many quality players, including Edin Dzeko, but he isn’t the only danger.
“I told Monchi that we would meet his former side, let’s call it intuition.
“I don’t care to play at home sooner or later, we can only do well and play as best we can.”
Monchi was the sporting director of Roma for 18 months, before quitting as the club sacked Eusebio Di Francesco last season, and returned to his old position at Sevilla.
