Fonseca looking at ‘future targets’

Roma coach Paulo Fonseca has claimed he “feels safe” in the Italian capital and revealed that he’s looking at possible targets for the upcoming transfer market.

The Giallorossi sit fifth in the suspended Serie A season and the Portuguese coach insisted that he hasn’t considered returning home during the existing emergency affecting the world.

“I only go out to the supermarket and in the last five days I went only yesterday,” he told Portuguese outlet SIC. “I feel safe here. Rome offers us the best conditions for the problems, we have everything. For example, there’s one of the best hospitals here.”

He confirmed that they Roma players are still training hard and claimed the fitness coach Nuno Romano has a very busy time and revealed that he has been scouting potential talent for the next transfer market.

“We are always in contact with the team, it’s important to not stop completely right now. Out fitness coach, Nuno Romano, is the one with the most work at the moment.

“I’m spending more time with my son and my wife than I do thinking about football. I’m reading and monitoring players who might be interesting for the future.”
