Petrachi-Pallotta row splits Roma?

There are reports of a furious row between Roma President Jim Pallotta and director of sport Gianluca Petrachi, which could see the latter leave under a year after taking over.

Multiple sources this evening, including Sky Sport Italia, Siamo La Roma, TMW and Roma24, all have the same details about the bitter split behind the scenes.

It began when President Pallotta gave an interview thanking everyone in the club hierarchy except Petrachi.

This seemingly sparked another discussion between them, although the problems had been brewing for some time, with Pallotta and Petrachi failing to agree on the general transfer strategy.

The various reports all suggest the situation is so bad that Petrachi could leave Roma within hours.

When he arrived, the plan had been to sell the club to Dan Friedkin, but negotiations appear to have broken down entirely, leaving the Giallorossi with huge debts.

Inevitably, their transfer options must also be transformed and Petrachi is furious at having started work that now needs to be binned immediately.
