Borja Mayoral’s agent said the striker ‘will certainly remain at Roma, or at least, we hope he will.’
The 23-year-old was signed from Real Madrid in a complicated loan deal, with option to buy for €15m in 2020-21, going up to €20m if it is activated in 2021-22.
“He will certainly remain at Roma, or at least, we hope he will,” representative Alejandro Camano told Calciomercato.it.
“Mayoral was one of the best players in the history of the Real Madrid youth academy, so he’s not a surprise. He’s similar to Karim Benzema, as he’s not just a centre-forward, but can also play with the team.
“He was too young when he went to Wolfsburg on loan, but returning to Real Madrid, he played 10 games and scored seven goals.
“Benzema said Mayoral was a ‘crack’ player and we brought him to Roma fully convinced that he is a star. He will really impress the fans.”
