Full-back Leonardo Spinazzola said he would bring Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Francesco Acerbi back to Roma. ‘We are a young team’.
Spinazzola replaced Chelsea full-back Emersom Palmieri in the 75th minute of the 2-0 win over Northern Ireland in the World Cup Qualifiers.
The full-back enjoyed playing with the experienced defenders in the Azzurri squad and said he would bring the veterans back to the Giallorossi, who are the only Italian team still competing in Europe.
“This year it’s a coincidence,” Spinazzola said at a press conference. “But we are there because in Europe they are all strong teams.
“At Roma, we are a young team, with a young defence and it’s OK to make mistakes. It’s part of the growth path.
“Here in the national team, there are [Giorgio] Chiellini, [Leonardo] Bonucci and [Francesco] Acerbi. I’d bring them three.”
