Roma defender Marash Kumbulla has suffered a meniscus injury during international duty with Albania and is out for three months.
The season is over for the Giallorossi centre-back, as he returned prematurely from his commitments with the national team.
Kumbulla suffered a knee injury at the end of the match against Andorra and Roma coach Paulo Fonseca got the bad news today.
The 21-year-old will miss the next three months due to the injury and gives La Lupa headache at the back ahead of the busy run-in.
Roma are still competing in the Europa League, where they will face Ajax in the quarter-finals next week, and Fonseca was hoping to recover as many players as possible.
Calciomercato.com, however, reports he should have Chris Smalling available and was planning to give the English defender some minutes already against Sassuolo this weekend.
But with Roger Ibanez suspended and Kumbulla now out for the remainder of the season, Smalling might have to start against the Neroverdi.
