Gigi Buffon confirms he received an offer from Brazilian club Flamengo, but is aiming to continue his career ‘much closer to home’ after leaving Juventus.
The goalkeeper is 43 years old and announced he will not be staying at Juve beyond the end of this season.
Many different options have been mentioned, including Atalanta, Roma and Barcelona.
“I did get a call from Flamengo, but I think I’ll be staying much closer to home,” Buffon told TNT Brasil.
“I don’t know if there’s any secret to playing on at 43. I guess it depends on your character, your body and of course good luck, because that makes a big difference.”
He saved Domenico Berardi’s penalty last night, as Juventus won 3-1 away to Sassuolo.
